  1. I hope they pull this through and keep the 20/50 distances. Let's make no mistake, this is driven by the TV deals. They don't want to waste 4 hours of TV window for race walking. They kicked them out of the stadiums for the finish section not to interfere with some random morning heats sessions already and now they want to make the event even more obscure than it is already.

Yes, everyone in the west is clearly against the famous Russia-Ukraine alliance of recent years.

Like none of these athletes care about the politics. They couldn't recognize Odessa from Omsk anyway.

I wouldn't go this far concerning Fourcade but yes there is a clear bias

No one formulated an inch of suspicion about Brorsson who is the woman Pidruchnhyi of this Champs

It could have been worse if we had a male Kuzmina out there so a Russian competing under a different flag with those kind of results. Since Shipullin has retired I guess MF needs to find a new punchbag. Might as well be Loginov and/or Pidruchnyi. It doesn't surprise me a lot.

I agree, i am shocked actually that girls like Brorsson or Eckhoff completely dominate her in cross-country. Its hard to win races when you are such a slow shooter and are also in a bad cross-country shape. Its surprising that she gave up the inside, especially because 1 minute before a german coach told her to close the inside. I have to give respect to Eckhoff for not completely closing the inside, otherwise Dahlmeier would have had to stop in order to not "miss" the finish, very fair by Eckhoff.

This is old school biathlon where shooting was paramount. It's only in the last 15-20 years when we've had these extremely good skiers who could win despite missing 1 or 2 shots more than the rest. Look at Kuzmina, 13/20 and still Top 6. That would never happen in the 90s. Dahlmeier knows she won't out-ski anyone at these Champs so she has to keep it clean on the range.
