They are talking about scrapping the distance event in the future and for OGs in 2026.
Some of the people in power thinks it takes too long a time and is too complicated for spectators.
Personally,I think it is BS.
The distance competition is for me the most fun of all to watch.
Sadly the super sprints and stadium crap are upon us in biathlon. They got rid of the 50km in cross country and they will probably get rid of the individual which is a crying shame. Biathlon is losing importance when it comes to shooting, now individual is just about the only event where shooting 20/20 actually matters.
I won't even say a word about this being "too complicated". It's obviously a total BS.

For sure.
There’s a NASCAR race that weekend?
Yep, all true.
God you’re old
Never was a fan of all-star weekend. I think it would be fun they did some skills contest (like the NBA dunk competition, or MBL Home Run Derby, etc.). Maybe have a go cart race, or a race with some insane rules. I do love the pit-stop competition. Always made sure to tune in to that as a kid.
NASCAR was still on Eurosport back then (and F1 too). Then the Pay-Per-View TV took over
My first memory of NASCAR on TV was Rusty Wallace flying in the air at Talladega in 1993:

Juniors next year.
Totally forgot about that! Now they have to do something with the ski jumping hill complex, right? Or will they hold the ski jumping in Szczyrk?

I watched as a religious fan for about a decade (half of my life, more than half actually), I never heard of either of these. There was the Coca Cola 600 at Charlotte, but I never considered that one of the big races.
Darlington is easily the best NASCAR track outside of Daytona/Talladega.
World 600 obviously happens on the same day as Indy 500.
Daytona, Talladega, Darlington and Charlotte were the Big 4 tracks of NASCAR back in the Winston Cup days.
I'm old enough to remember they were still racing for the Grand Slam 1 million dollars in the 90s.

Now all that extra money goes for the All-Star weekend.

Cars rolling again...

This is fucking pathetic...

The NASCAR season is just too damn long, with many repitative races. Cut the calendar by a third, but that won't happen, because of money and more money.
They had over 50 races in the 60s so the current schedule isn't historically long

Right. My bad
Zakopane also held the Nordic WCh twice but it's not going back there anytime soon. There's still only one road from the nearest airport in Krakow and well, it's notoriously jammed all year. I bet if you took a bus from Kosice you'd get to Zakopane faster than from Krakow

Literally there’s only 2 race that matter. Daytona and Talledega. All the other races are completely pointless.
World 600 and Southern 500 are pretty important too. (Excuse me for using the classic names but I literally hate the sponsor title crap).

Hmm... what about 1935?

Daytona 500 is here, green flag in half an hour
When you think NASCAR can't get more stereotypical American, it's the Trumpster himself who's going to give the 'Start your engines' command
Florida is obviously a massive state when it comes to elections. You can't buy a publicity like that

Doesn't answer my question but anyway
Your position is pretty obvious by the way
Of course it is. I don't really cheer for Norway and France. I just said that

Tell us how, I'd really want to know
Don't have to brag about French dominance. I'm already sick of the Fourcade cheering on English ES. I'm cheering for the lesser nations anyway. France and Norway are not among them

Grzegorz Guzik 33rd with four misses. Very good result
-
Geez, JTB lost his balance just when he was about to kick... and Jacquelin wins!
-
JTB vs Jacquelin for the gold. Well, we know how this one ends...
Loginov with bronze.
-
Fillon Mallet with 4 misses on the first prone. Well, bye

3 jumpers left, and they cancelled it. Didn't look that windy there at all as well.
Silly. Wait a bit then.
Bah.
Stefan Kraft wouldn't have won if they finished the competition so they had to cancel the 2nd round

Not everyone can openly speak in slovak to the public in a foreign country, that´s already quite an achievement
Lucky win today, for sure maybe undeserved ? who knows, that´s sport, hearthbreaking for Anna obviously, Petra crashed in levi being in the same position as Anna today. so she knows her feelings very well,
Next time Petra will have to focus much more on both runs not just for one like today,
It's different when you throw away your FIRST World Cup victory like that. Last time I checked Vlhova had some wins before Levi?
Swenn-Larsson might never win another World Cup race tbh. Not with Shiffrin and Vlhova around.
-
Muted podium. Vlhova knows how lucky she was here
-
Swenn-Larsson crashes out with 1,17 sec lead four gates from home
Epic choke.
Vlhova wins.
-
Peter Fill might have retired but he's busy posting messages on Wierer's IG account
-
Gold for Wierer!
Herrmann and Olsbu on the podium.
Eckhoff 20th.
Milena Todorova with another PB in 18th!
-
Yeah, Dunklee finally collapsed.
But Doro!!!
Something tells me Vittozzi will be very quiet for the rest of these champs

I feel like super sprints will enter the WC frame sometime in this decade and maybe 60 athletes mass starts but that would obviously require some range developments.
Pursuits are the cheap fruit, they could be removed IMO. Individual has been downgraded to just three events per season so the next step is to remove it completely which would be horrible on all accounts.
