  1. Yeah, do we need to see another Eric 'The Eel' Moussambani and Paula 'The Crawler' Bolopa again just so the gender equality lobbyists are satisfied?
  2. It's obvious political bullshit... funny thing is the Muslim countries will obviously ignore it and IOC can't afford to ban all the oil countries or else global market takes a plunge... and Thomas Bach is too clever to risk a political crises based on his gender equality bullshit. Europe and America have long lost the privilege of telling the Middle East what to do
  3. Good luck with enforcing the gender parity rule if some nations only qualify for like 3 team sports in the men's events and 0 in women's This political corectness bullshit is really getting to the extreme. I wonder when enough will be enough? It's only a matter of time before this happens, And what if some nations field 80% of women and 20% men? Will anyone scream about gender parity then? I suspect not Muslim nations will NEVER send more women than men but of course IOC only applies the rules to European and North American countries. Will Iran be banned from entering volleyball and football qualifications then?
  4. Germany used to be the best 400m nation in Europe this side of GB and USSR/Russia. Poland still has a strong 400m team but Belgium and Netherlands seem to have overtaken Germany by miles. Also no sprinting power in Germany anymore, one silver from Kranz which is very poor by former standards. Germany has definitely regressed in 400m/sprints/pole vault & high jump.
  5. Livio Magoni could probably learn a thing or two from Shiffrin but he probably won't
  6. Athletics is a very popular sport here and the rise in 21st century started in those field events that are usually abandoned on TV and big media who only focus on sprints and track events. Other than 1980s we always had elite world class athletes winning gold medals in Olympics and World Championships. GB tries to stay true to their sprints & middle distance running but they never had a strong field presence save for some one-offs. And Germany has tailed off a lot in athletics as well though just like Poland you seem to do better in field events these days.
  7. Just wait 10 more years and cross country will get rid of any distances over 10 km. Nobody wants to watch 2 hours of 50km mass start boredom and people have a hard time following Norwegian national championships each and every week. Few more years of lipstick Johaug winning by 3 minutes and even FIS will come up with some weird ideas how to cut this nonsense.
  8. If skin colour was really an issue they wouldn't have allowed Harry to marry her to begin with Besides Meghan had no objections to Harry parading in Nazi uniforms before so what's the big deal anyway?
  9. Yes, women's 400m hurdles has seen a rise in performance overall in the last few years after some lean spell in late 00s/early 10s. But I think Bol is one athlete that will definitely profit from OG being delayed to 2021
  10. Fenke Bol run a 49.99 split! Holub's next best was 51,4
  11. Yeah, it's some underdog story since no javelin was involved and Neziri actually missed on one!
  12. Given her obvious talent I believe she's gonna be running 400m flat outdoors too if only in European events. Obviously 400m hurdles is less stacked globally so she might cause some surprise in Tokyo for sure.
  13. But Bol is only 21yo and has a much earlier start into stardom than Schippers. She can definitely dominate the European 400m scene during the next decade and who knows what she does in Tokyo? Will she enter both 400m hurdles and 400m flat? I have to say I can't tell a difference between the Dutch women's relay other than Bol being the tallest. They all kinda look the same
  14. Obviously performed below expectations, 5 golds from 2019 and whooping 7 from 2017 were never the on the cards due to emergence of Bol, Ingebrigtsen and Duplantis. Ewa Swoboda wouldn't have won 60m either. So the only real gold we "lost" was the men's shot put.
  15. wins the medal table. If they only entered 400m and 4x400 relays they'd have won it too? So, Femke Bol is the new Dafne Schippers?
  16. sweeps 4x400 but the second runner was close to not making it to the exchange, either cramps or pulled a muscle alltogether?
  17. No Swiety-Ersetic in the relay final. Well, that probably means no gold allthough youngster Lesiewicz turned some heads at national champs. Second runner with massive cramps!
  18. Gold for in men's 4x400. and with other medals. Mahuchikh clears 1,98 first time. Only three jumps all day.
  19. Levchenko goes out at 1.96 so should finish 4th. Mahuchikh still needs to jump 1,98. Junnila 1,96 NR is probably more than she expected.
  20. Kszczot says Webb clipped him but it's not worth a protest. Very generous from him.
  21. Finally a gold... 400m hurdles speciallist wins 800m I wish I could hear Martin Gillingham now! No medal for Kszczot.
  22. Hodgkinson wins gold, Jozwik silver and Cichocka bronze.
  23. I watched a total of 5 mins of women's 30km and 0 mins of men's 50km. Waste of time with these mass starts but of course TV window rules and FIS knows shit.
