  1. Clara Tauson wins her second WTA title in what is likely to be the last Luxembourg Open edition.
  2. Good to see Borowska on the podium after the 4th place in Tokyo
  3. Not NFL but high school football on Friday night. 17 point comeback in 68 seconds!
  4. Garin was a highly touted junior aka the next Marcelo Rios. And he whored up a ton of points on clay since late 2018 when he entered Top 100 based on ITF events which is possible the way rankings work. Five ATP titles + some Masters 1000 QFs later he's a Top 20 ranked player. If the indoor hard was fast like it should be, he would be quite vulnerable alright - though the scoreline is still shocking.
  5. Zdeno Chara signed a 1-year deal with NY Islanders. I remember playing him with Islanders on my NHL 2000 game... like 21 years ago
  6. Better get that speed climbing as separate event for Paris OG. might sneak a medal there
  7. That must be the reason why Nairobi can't get that senior World Champs the entire Africa deserves
  8. No surprise, Zakopane bails out from hosting the cross country at the upcoming U23 World Championships next February. They couldn't build a 5 km loop which was mandatory for the event - even with the COVID delay. The 3.75 km loop was approved for nordic combined but that's like a pariah event on the big scale anyway. Only ski jumping & NC will be held in Zakopane. The 3.75 km loop could have been artifically extended but they are building a domed speed skating rink within the complex already which has priority over cross country. https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1113063/world-ski-cross-country-champs
  9. The population of chicken, cows & pigs is waaaay bigger worldwide than the population of dolphins. I'm not surprised tough, if only some Eastern Bloc or Third World country or China did a similar thing the outrage would be enormous. But because it's done by one of the rich Western countries people will come up with a thousand of reasons why it has to be done and it shouldn't be stopped Nothing to see here, get ready for more dolphins being killed next year!
  10. Canada is responsible for the Atlantic cod population collapse and who cares about it these days? Nobody. Wealthy countries can always buy themselves a clear consciousness
  11. Ahead of the Italian Grand Prix. Like I've mentioned before, this is a strategic place on the calendar for the last 'free' engine change for literally every team. Yep, Verstappen effectively has three more Grand Prix on the mileage (Hungary, Holland & Belgium which was a complete wash but not practice). Everyone is on the last allocated engine from Monza onwards (Perez took his 4th in Zandvoort already plus Bottas in Monza). Any further changes will result in grid penalties.
  12. Denmark belongs to the rich north Europe, no chance anything will be done with the dolphins in Faroe Islands. Ecologists are paid off to look away
  13. Every driver has three engines per season. Using four or more engines equals a penalty (you can go back to engine previously used as long as it's max. three). Here's the full chart at the Italian GP. Everyone is on their 3rd engine except for Bottas & Perez who are on #4 (they incurred penalties already). Bottas lost one in the Imola collision with Russell and Perez lost one in the Hungary Turn 1 pile-up. Verstappen lost one in the British GP shunt and is on his third since Hungary. Mind you, Monza is usually the target for an engine change since it's a power circuit. Most drivers made a switch to their third engine only ahead of this Grand Prix. https://maxf1.net/en/2021-f1-power-unit-elements-usage/

  15. They probably will but ahead of a track that actually enables overtaking a little more than others. Mexico is usually a strong track for Red Bull so they wouldn't risk losing a victory but maybe they do it ahead of Interlagos (or Austin if the mileage is bigger than we think).
  16. Raiders beat Ravens 33-27 in OT on Monday Night Football! That was quite an upset. Just win, baby!
  17. I don't think so. Too much to lose in the title race. Bottas was a non-factor for months so it didn't mean much.
  18. UEFA and CONMEBOL are the two strongest feds, if they are both against the biennial WC it's all over.
  19. It is BS penalty. It was a 50/50 racing incident IMO. However Sochi is one track where this penalty isn't that severe due to the extremely long run down to Turn 2 braking zone (T1 is a kink).
  20. Daniil Medvedev denies Djokovic the CYGS. 6-4 6-4 6-4!
  21. And the drama continues at Monza. Ricciardo wins ahead of Norris in McLaren 1-2 but we had a collision among two title rivals

  23. Seems like Blue Jays got too excited over that Yankees sweep since they lost to the lowly Orioles yesterday. Sigh. Meanwhile Yankees continue to slump as they got beat by Mets 10-3.
