Second goal for Ramos. 3-0. Benching Ronaldo was the perfect choice.
-
Pepe scores for 2-0.

Yeah, Bucs have been playing crap on offense all season, it's safe to say Arians was really that important and Todd Bowles is a good DC but just not a HC material. He can't blame this on Jets being Jets anymore

All would have depended on who England would have replaced their coach when it became a Great Britain team. Maybe Alex Ferguson?
In 1986 it would still be Robson, Ferguson was nowhere near to assume that position yet (maybe Alan Hansen would have played for Team GB though
).

In the 1986 quarter-final Maradona would not have scored a goal if Southall and Ratcliffe had been playing...
Maybe so but I can't see how England would beat West Germany in 1986 to win the WC

England had Gary Lineker in 1986. They did not need Ian Rush. Brazil would still be winners in 1970 in what is considered their strongest WC winning squad. Bale over Young is an upgrade but not WC winner-changing IMO.

Trea Turner signs a 11 year/ 300 million deal with Phillies
Justin Verlander signs a 2-year deal with New York Mets so he's teammates with Max Scherzer again. Mets are loading up all-in but it's anyone's guess if Scherzer can avoid injuries for longer than two months.

an Italian newspaper wrote that she's a former Miss Croatia
but I'm not sure they are accurate (actually, I'd be surprised if they are)...
She took part in the Miss World Croatia 2016 pageant but someone else won it AFAIK.

Korea scores a goal! They deserved at least that.

Paqueta scores for 4-0
-
Richarlison makes it 3-0. This is really a clown show now.

Neymar scores from penalty. Game is basically over after 13 mins
-
Vinicius scores after 7 mins. Best start for Brazil possible.

Well, the most experienced TVP commentator is doing all the Brazil matches at this WC (he declined to comment on Poland matches
). He announced this will be his last WC and he's been given the final already so let's see if he becomes the lucky horse shoe for Brazil

Well, one more game for this fan...

Third save from Livakovic.

Japan scores!

Raiders beat LA Chargers 27-20 tonight. Guess the McDaniels/Carr era might not be over after the season if they continue winning games. At 5-7 they are out of the playoff picture. Meanwhile 49ers beat Miami Dolphins 33-17 but QB Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a broken foot and is out for the season. This seriously hijacks Niners' SB chances even in the weak NFC.

Should have guessed. Same guy who had an idea to have a winter WC, with 5 subs, female referees and so on.
I am a conservative, changing established formats isnt my cup of tee but this is beyond my wildest dreams.
I mean, 3 teams per group, just hillarious.
Well, we had three team groups in 1982 R2 when only 12 of 24 teams made it out of the first group stage. But it was quickly abandoned after only one edition. To have two out of three teams progress from group stage would make almost all the last matches in group stage meaningless if the third team didn't win the first two making the last match a de facto shootout to progress. And you know some bozos would still play for a 0-0 draw
-
Very underwhelming R16 games in the top half. Only the Argentine own goal provided the x-factor. Bottom half should be much more interesting, Japan vs Croatia is anyone's for the taking IMO, Spain vs Morocco for the old colonial supremacy (FIFA selected Rapallini as the ref) and Portugal vs Switzerland can possibly go into PSO.

Kane scores. 2-0. Guess we'll have to wait for upsets until Japan plays
