  4. It;s the return of the 'complaining curse' from last time! Every time someone complained about a lack of points in the last edition, sure enought the next vote would see them pick up a stack of points!
  5. Wow songs ranked number 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 are all from the Americas!!
  6. Completely forgot the contest was this weekend!! What a wonderful surprise!
  7. Asian YOG Table Tennis Qualifier: Girls: Sun Yingsha Su Pei-Ling Miu Hirano Jinnipa Sawettabut Boys: Wang Chuqin Lin Yun-Ju Tomokazu Harimoto Cho Daeseong
  8. Especially in sports like Athletics where there are many more competitions in Europe/North America than other parts of the world with a higher ranking status including the Diamond League, IAAF Label Road Races and combined event challenge.
  9. Don’t like the sound of this. The rankings will give more points to certain events, but if the Diamond League (where certain athletes are invited, with many from the host countries) are given a high points weighting then that will corrupt the whole qualification system and seriously disadvantage athletes from smaller nations.
  10. Rwanda Traditional - Cyprien Rugamba (Imirindi) Afrobeat - Kamichi (Zoubeda)

  13. The Cycling qualification rankings have now been published by the UCI, these are the qualifiers (2 athletes each): COMBINED (ROAD/MTB) Men: (link) Women: (link) BMX: (link) Argentina automatically qualified 1 team (2 athletes) per event.
  14. That’s excellent! And beating a pretty strong field including South Africa and Nigeria.
  15. Qualification Update: Rwanda have qualified for the Women's Beach Volleyball Tournament at the 2018 Commonwealth Games by winning the African Commonwealth Qualification Tournament held over the weekend in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Results (Semifinals) 2 - 0 2 - 0 Results (Final) 2 - 0 More info on the Men's Tournament will follow soon!
  16. Apparently only 457 tickets have been sold for the 2018 Winter Paralympics! With only 191 tickets sold for the opening ceremony. This is very worrying and will need a surge of enthusiasm during the 2018 Olympics to boost ticket sales for the Paralympics.
  17. Weightlifting are apparently changing their qualification from national team quota to individual qualifying, whilst reducing the max quota per nation to 8 athletes. Hope the cut doesnt prevent smaller nations in Oceania from qualifying like they used to do
  18. Hope it’s Kenya! The Youth Championships held this year had incredible crowds and the East African region has such a strong athletics pedigree that it has to host the championships. South Africa and Morocco probably have a chance but I doubt they’d be able to deliver the passion of Kenya. Plus we would just have had empty shiny stadiums in Doha, small crowds in small stadiums in Eugene and then Budapest, so a bit of excitement and atmosphere would be great for the IAAF!
  19. Equestrian: Tripartite Allocation: (5) Quota for each region minus (1) Host and (3) Tripartite: EUROPE: NORTH AMERICA: +2 CENTRAL AMERICA/CARIBBEAN RANKING AFRICA, OCEANIA, ASIA, SOUTH AMERICA still to be decided by FEI Jumping Challenge ranking
  20. British votes have been sent! I had a top 4 that I've really struggled to rank from 12-9, all of them have been added to my playlist. This was probably the toughest vote I've ever had to make in the contest.
  21. The Northern Irish and Irish teams wanted Switzerland or Denmark, so they’ll both be happy!!
