Apparently a building of the Assembly of Experts was hit, where they may or may not have been meeting to choose a new leader. I do kind of refuse to believe these people were actually so unimaginably dumb to actually have a meeting in their building during a bombing campaign. Surely not?

I mean, it's undoubtedly done for some shady reason like distracting from the Epstein files or something, but whatever the reason, at least Trump and his buddies finally did something actually...kind of good. Most angry reactions come from terrorist organizations or questionable dictators and that's about it.

Swimming qualification times. Some events got harder standards (the shorter strokes) and some got easier standards.
 
Also of note, the 50m strokes have been added to the program.

The 470 boat has been added to the sailing program, bringing the competition up to 14 medal events.

I think every peruvian president has been impeached for corruption cases in the last 15 years

I remember the previous one (which was removed this week) was caught following local porn actresses on social media shortly after he came to power 
And if I understand correctly one of the reasons he was removed now was that he hired different young women in the state administration without any qualifications whatsoever - I assume not without "something" in exchange...
It seems poor Peru continues to be unlucky with his presidents 
Not that they're the only country to do so.

Please no.. Snow sports are one of the last safe heavens, where country shopping and manipulations are barely happening. At least not at the top level. We don't need that door to be opened like 95% of summer sports.
 
Braathen is a semi-exception, since he has Brazilian roots, even though his whole sporting career is Norwegian made.

I am back and just to congratulate Brazil for the gold 

And something interesting I saw on Twitter: our two main Olympic sports, the one with the most medals (Judo) and the one with the most gold medals (Sailing), also started with a Brazilian who was born in another country (Japan and Sweden, respectively), so it has to start somewhere.

Obviously not, and even if he wanted to, Norway invested in him and deserved all the credit.
 
But Brazil is not Great Britain; it doesn't matter if he wasn't born there, if he has a Brazilian mother then he is Brazilian. More than a choice, it's his right to represent Brazil.

No doubt we'll see some western european dude win a medal for Africa at some point. Probably sooner than we think.

Last Carnival we won the Oscars, this Carnival we won a Gold metal at the Winter Olympics.

If  banned dual nationality as a law I wonder if he would be skiing for .
