Honestly I think generalist forums have been damaged by social network arrival, because social networks are generalist. I think thematic forums have not been very damaged, if you really like sports you should prefer Totallympics rather than a random facebook sports group (and same for any other thematic forum). We are a very small niche, if you just watch football and sometimes some Olympic sports during the Olympics you are probably not going to become a loyal Totallympics user, but I don't think 15 years ago our community would have been much bigger. By the way, I think welcoming new users is very helpful to make them feel part of the community, when a community is some years old new users may feel like they are going on a boat with no more space available

All these nations you and dcro listed were represented by users I found on Facebook/Twitter and guided them here. Out of them only one user from Nigeria and one user from Puerto Rico became regular users, all the others were just connecting if I sent them a link to the forum

To be fair I must say many users from exotic nations were brough on the forum by me to have more nations represented, and I had to spend lots of time with every user just to explain how to register and what the forum is about. And out of 10 users brough on the forum like that, I think maximum 1 or 2 were user who would have come back on the forum spontaneously. We don't need to do that anymore now and new users just find the forum through google.

I agree @Wanderer is doing a great job and we should all say thank you to him for that Formatting tables is not a nightmare, you just need to learn some tricks. I learnt them so if you copy-paste the tables here I would probably be able to put the right format very quickly But I agree with LDOG that if it's too long to work on general standings it's better to get rid of them and maybe just have an all-time medal count which is much easier to keep.
