I’m sure they want UAE to cook a bit, given that they’re a weaker team than Ineos. At a certain point Ineos will put the big diesels on & sort it out.

No doubt. It's a gutsy move with Van Aert and Nibali in the front group. Van Aert shouldn't be a GC contender but if he's as ready for the mountains as last year, he could be dangerous if he gets 5 minutes today.
