Erik Varga and Zuzana won the Mixed team quota and also individual quotas. So, going by rules, :SVK can pick these two using Mixed team quota and two different shooters for individual quota and all 4 can start in both individual and team events via double starter rule.

Mixed Team world champions won only available mixed trap direct quotas at the world champs (Varga/Štefečeková won gold), 2 days after Varga won individual quota as silver medalist in M Trap and day after Štefečeková won w individual trap quota as world champion.

Exactly what we are expecting to do, all 4 are prepared, nominated and already focused for the events, just ISSF apparently can not read correctly or remember their own rules..

however, this will be fixed soon, otherwise this will be some scandal

I think it is a mistake from the ISSF.

However, one has to wonder if they made a late change to fully enforce the rule of athletes not being able to earn more than one spot for their nation.

It is already enforced for the individual events (and within most other sports). And it is a fair question. Should a nation be allowed to enter four athletes for the efforts of two athletes? Something to think about.

In principle I agree but you don’t change the rules at the end.

Well, it has been just confirmed by our authorities. ISSF for some reason decided to change their own rules about mixed event double starters, and even despite protest of our federation will not allow Kovačócy and Špotáková to compete in the Individual events  Our federation and athletes are furious !

They will be allowed to compete only as 2nd team in the Mixed Trap. also every country will be allowed to start only with one team in the mixed events if they have at least 1 M and 1 W, only the nations which won quotas in Mixed events at the 2018 World Champs like Slovakia in Mixed Trap can enter two teams.

The first part insane... second part smart decision

There’s nothing that upsets me more than “frivolous” or “dead” quota. People may not like how complicated the Canoe Sprint qualification system is, but at least the ICF makes the most of the quotas they award. Awarding quotas purely for a Mixed Team event that has other means of qualification and then not allowing the athletes qualified through the Mixed Team event to participate the individual events is an extraordinary waste of quota.
