Quotas in Men's Team Sprint (again a disqualification might change the standings):

:AUS :FRA :GER :GBR :NED :NZL :POL :RUS

Poland, overtake the Japanese team for 7th position in the Olympic ranking, and unless disqualified, they're in.

Now Russia, who advanced to first round edging Japan for the last spot, is 240 points behind them in the Olympic ranking, so in order for :RUS to secure a quota, their riders need to finish 6th or higher in the final standing, otherwise :JPN gets the last spot.

*EDIT: Russia finished in 5th place, so they qualify for Tokyo 2020.

:HKG is already qualified, as :GBR and every other NOC provisionally ranked outside the qualification treshold, whether they have one or two riders entered. could reach Wai Sze Lee and co.

Meanwhile :RSA could potentially benefit from Special Provision 1 (page 7 of Qualification document) as the best NOC from Africa, due to no rider or team from that has a good chance to secure a quota in either Team Sprint or Keirin.

:COL:JPN & :MAS are already qualified, as NOC's provisionally ranked 8th and below have only one cyclist entered, which would only allow them to earn a maximum 1500 points, which are insuficient to catch the former three countries.

:CAN, :CZE and even :TTO (which is not competing in this event), have also almost secured their quotas, as the nearest country which could upset any of them ( :KAZ ), needs its rider to finish 4th or better in the final classification to leave them are out Tokyo.

At this point, they only need to avoid being disqualified.  Every other country in the list has already secure a quota, eveb Canada and Trinidad and Tobago without even participating.

Well, this is terrible news for :SUR Suriname. :(

By my simulation, they desperately needed South Africa to keep their keirin spot...

Indeed, it puts a lot of pressure on Suriname to perform really well at the championships, but since Canada didn't enter a single rider in the sprint and they only have 88 points above Suriname, I think only a real tragedy might prevent Tjon en Fa from being in Tokyo.

    • The squad was reserve, but that's a disgrace. Apart from Favaretto, there's no generational change. Without Volpi and Errigo, we're very weak. After Paris, it was already clear that the USA had clearly overtaken us. Cerioni isn`t the miracle worker he once seemed.
    • Italian women's foil team, with Errigo and Favaretto, lost against Ukraine in quarterfinals
    • This Finn trains in Norway. It would probably be better to send 2-3 of our juniors to Norway, pay the local federation and let them train there. Maybe something will come of it. We should have given money to the Colturi team and now we would be in a much better situation than we are now. France: 2 win for Clement, 4 place for Amiez. You can see that there is progress and we? 19 Vinatzer? This is a joke.
    • Croatia, Bulgaria and even the UK have skier in the top 10 today. The UK doesn't even have mountains with snow. Can you fall any lower than we do? If the UK had mountains like ours they would be the best in the world.
    • Nothing will come of this Italian slalom. It's getting worse every year. The Italians' style of riding is simply not suited to the current times. It's too slow. One Lara Colturi will earn more points for this 2nd place than the entire Italian men's and women's slalom team by the end of this year... I would give money to the Colturi team than to the entire squad of these mediocre skier.
