HISTORIC DAY FOR INDIAN SPORT !!!

Our first ever Gymnastics Olympic qualifier, and she's one with actually a decent shot at a medal, rather than just "going there for the experience" !!!

:clap::clap::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::thumbup:

Taking nothing away from Dipa ......... This is our 6 olympic qualifier in gymnastics we had 2 in 1952 and 3 in 1956 ...................   but our first female qualifier , our first in 60 years and the first one with a true medal prospect .....................

Even if she doesnt get a medal(Realistically its next to impossible), she will be in the top 5 at least... :)

why next to impossible ...... she finished 5th at the world championship in the vault ..... so a small miss by someone else and she could be in with a medal chance ...so I would say some chances ( but not next to impossible )

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
