Gurpreet had the same case like other indian shooters one bad series yesterday was all it mattered in the end if he would have atleast scored a 93 he wud have qualified. Mairaj did wat he cud today but hard luck he lost in the shootouts. All hopes on sania in todays semis let see if she can take her stake as the greatest sportwoman in indian history by winning india a medal at the olympics

Summary Day -8 India at Olympics

Most disappointing day ever. Looks like this Olympics is going to be most Unlucky ever we had before.

Athletics -

Lalita Babar Stunned every one by Qualifying for Finals at 3000 meters steeplechase. First time any Indian to achieve it.

All others fails again.

Shooting -

25 m rapid fire pistol -  Gurpreet Singh fails to Qualify for finals after finishing 7th Only Top 6 will Qualify. Such a unlucky day we had.  But good show to by him today.
Skeet - Mairaj Ahmad Khan - No  different Story for him too. He missed the finals in Shoot out.

Shoot out never turned to be lucky for Indians in this Olympics both in Archery and Shooting.

Tennis - Sania / Bopanna lost in semifinals after capturing the first set.

Women's Hockey - India lost to Argentina by 5-0.
`
Badminton - Mens doubles team had a first win against Japan today. but Womens double team end RIO Campaign by no win.

    • Germany also fell hard in this discipline, the same thing happened to Russia - in 2022 they were much weaker than before. Romania – similar levels for years. France – strong growth until 2024, and now a decline again. Georgia – growth, but a large number of naturalized people from the Balkans play there. Generally, I see Georgia has been naturalizing a lot in various sports lately: water polo, figure skating, etc. Could that local regime there be spending much more money to further promote the country through sports?

    • To be fair,  has been active in men's water polo for about a decade. I've been using them as a barometer for whether a European nation is relevant.   I'd love to see them face non-European nations some time to see how they'd stack up.
