Why not ... Even Karam Malleshwari or PT Usha..etc

the role of the officials is management....

Not every sportsperson is capable of managing affairs...

Ex-olympians and sportspersons should be encouraged to taker up coaching instead.....

so many academies lack quality training and guidance.....

I faced same issue when I was in France during 2008 Olympics .. Still I remember, one my the French colleague ran to me and asked is this first gold medal, India ever got ..I just smiled and said Yes..  For them , India is great country with great talent and Surprised to hear it.

Now I am in US, Even that opportunity I don't have .. :(.. we are not bad man .. just unlucky ...cant hold the nerve..

I guess India need more exposure with our own people... I am sure 25% indians still feel that Virat Kohli is a medal contender.... All the national games should be given same exposure like Olympics ... Schools should have some sports mandatory and emphasis on those students who do well in sports... We have limited participation in sports .. we need to get more enthusiasm in Volley ball, basket ball, Judo etc...

Ur looking at the top....But improvement comes from the bottom....The big changes in India's olympic fortunes wont change till the next generation of athletes come up...

We need our top former athletes and sportspersons to go right at the grassroot level or atleast in the junior levels.

changes would only be visible after 8-10 years

On the other side.. horrible performance by Indian women Hockey team... trailing 0-4 to Aus in 3rd quarter...not able to see the match as feeling pity being thrashed by Australians.

    • some changes in the team and less importance to the sport, the two big teams until 2022/2023 ( and ) in south america started to decrease a lot and in the other hand the 3rd in South America () is growing a lot, is really impressive. We are currently the favourites for the LA2028 quota
    • Last few weeks of the World Cup season for winter sports (and Junior Worlds, depending on streaming), Men's Curling Worlds, Saquarema Elite 16, and some tennis   That's it unless I'm missing something, not much going on    Which is a good thing honestly, very busy next couple of weeks.
    • What happened to Brazil's women's team? On the other hand it looks like Argentina may be the top South American team on the women's side. Defeating Spain, China and South Africa was unlikely up until this year
    • These are the teams I think will qualify for the WC this window:           Hoping for some debutants to qualify!
    • defeats  7-5 for gold, Schwaller goes from junior world champions to world champions only two years later   win bronze 8-5 over
    • Honestly, it’s not very clear what is happening in Italy — anything could happen. There is extremely high turnout, and no pollster, politician, or newspaper had predicted it; now they’re all there throwing out data. No one has any idea why people voted, also because it was very technical and almost empty polling stations were expected. It will be interesting to understand whether this is a protest vote against the government or a protest vote against the judiciary.
