Do those Houthis realize they can also simply ask to be killed? Because they know that's gonna happen now, this just seems a complex way of asking to die.

The Iranian government don't really want to be killed but they have no objection to having Houthi Yemenis get blown up in their place.

Thousands hurt by exploding pagers across Lebanon, health minister says - BBC News

Meaning they'll have to fall back to the level of technology of countries like....right, Germany and their billion fax machines they still rely on.

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Whatever one's position is, technologically speaking this is a massively impressive operation. Causing thousands of these things to, presumably, overheat their batteries and explode in the same time period is one of the highest impact hacks in history, one might say.

Really?  How odd.  I remember they were a great wonder at my work when we started using them in the late 80s, but even by about the mid 90s they were sitting in dusty, forgotten corners.  I guess there must be some legal requirement.   Or maybe Germans are just nostalgic for the whole Berlin Wall / Scorpions / Rudi Voller's haircut era.

No need to ask which brand of pagers, though.
