IJF suspends events in UAE and Tunisia "until governmental guarantee is given to ensure free and equal participation of all nations at the said events".

That is excellent news no matter what you think of any nation.

Also, possibly not entirely unrelated:

well, this looks a big payback to me...

however I agree, those Countries who don't respect some of the partecipating athletes shouldn't be allowed to host any event at all...

Yep, and I really don't care about which country it is. If the Netherlands would refuse Turkish athletes (not happening, but there's some tension) I'd also say the Netherlands should be stripped off any hosting rights. Don't refuse athletes, simple as that.

day #1 at the Judo Grand Prix in Zagreb (CRO), with some valuable points in the race to Tokyo up for grab...

and Japan, who else? is immediately on top of the medal table with 2 out of 5 possible Gold medals (Ai Shishime, women's -52kg and Naohisa Takato, men's -60kg)...

Canada (Christa Deguchi, who beat Jessica Klimkait in an all-Canadian bout in the final of the women's -57kg), Ukraine (Daria Bilodid, women's -48kg) and Israel (Tal Flicker, men's -66kg) won the remaining Gold medals (1 each, of course)...

8 more Countries won at least 1 medal, but no Gold...

unfortunately, Italy is not among them...only 2 5th places for us...

day #2 at the Judo Grand Prix in Zagreb (CRO)

:KOS Akil Gjakova (men's -73kg), :GER Dominic Ressel (men's -81kg), :JPN Nami Nabekura (who defeated the Slovenian ace Tina Trstenjak in the final match of the women's -63kg) and :FRA Marie Eve Gahie are today's winners in Zagreb...

10 more Nations won a medal, but no Gold...

for Italy, "only" a silver medal at the end of the day, thanks to the -66kg Olympic Champion Fabio Basile, who was second in his new -73kg class...

he looked very inspired through the preliminary block, but then he got a slight injury to his right leg that gave him some trobles in the semifinal (still managed to beat Butbul, ISR) and too many troubles in the final, where he had a really poor outing against Gjakova (and beside that, he was also heavily annoyed by the ref, an Asian woman, who gave him a couple of shido quite early in the bout, closing her eyes on Gjakova's repeated escape from fighting)...

final day at the Judo Grand Prix in Zagreb (CRO)

today's titles went to :GEOGeorgia (Avtandili Tchrikishvili in the -90kg & Guram Tushishvili in the +100kg) + :RUSRussia (Niyaz Ilyasov in the -100kg) among the men, meanwhile they were :FRAFrance (Madeleine Malonga in the -78kg) and :SLOSlovenia (Anamari Velensek in the +78kg) to spoil the party in the women's division...

:JPN Japan won the medal table (who else?) with 3 Gold Medals, followed by :FRA France and :GEO Georgia with 2.

7 more Countries won 1 Gold medal each and in total 24 Nations won at least 1 medal (all Continents but Oceania represented in the final medal table)...

On top of that they have a terrible schedule in the CL. In their case qualifying for the play-offs would be a success in this season but I'm not sure how many points they will need to do that. Actually they chave 8 points.
