Dude's on fire, Michel Macedo has the 'Brazilian FIS points record' in 4 of the 5 alpine skiing disciplines now, this time breaking records from 2008 and 2006!

Nice. Winter sports athletes are virtually unknown here, unfortunately.

Yep, it's already a big deal when Globo or something pays some attention to them (like Bruna Moura and Victor Santos who had a live Skype interview with SporTV last winter from Austria). I guess nearly all attention in the coming months will be on Jaque Mourão once again (and hopefully on Isabel Clark as well).

For those interested, Bruna (Moura, the number one Brazilian biathlete at the moment) will have a live interview on SporTV tomorrow at/around 12.30 Brasilia time

So after 4 days Globo is finally starting their live coverage of the Games (they had to wait for the end of Carnaval). It's their biggest ever for a Winter Games. They will show about 4-5 hours everyday - from midnight through dawn Still good considering it's a open channel.

Interesting to see Mika Picin is doing the commentary (or co-commentary? or the role as expert?) for biathlon and XC on SporTV  

 

It might be a paid channel so you'd sort of expect it, but I still like seeing how much they are showing of the Winter Olympics....pretty much all (Korean) day and even with a studio (where there's talk about more sports than on Dutch TV), that's nice

They have been preparing in Livigno in Italy (where Brazil's cross-country/biathlon team has their base, except for Mourão who's not part of any team anyway), where it was a nice and chilly -25 degrees early this week  With a wind chill of -35 degrees there in Livigno...Pyeongchang will feel like São Paulo after that.
