London Marathon (British Olympic Marathon Trials)

Men's Automatic Qualifiers (Top 2 with British Olympic Standard)

  • Callum Hawkins
  • Tsegai Tewelde

Derek Hawkins, brother of Callum Hawkins, will have his fate decided by the selectors this evening. He was the 3rd fastest British man and he finished over a second inside the qualification standard.

Women's Automatic Qualifiers (Top 2 with British Olympic Standard)

  • Alyson Dixon
  • Sonia Samuels

Charlotte Purdue was the 3rd fastest Brit and she finished outside the British Olympic Standard, however this was her marathon debue which may increase the opportunity of being selected tonight.

10 minutes ago, Jur said:

I would love to see both Hawkins brothers in Rio

That would be fantastic and it would mean that all 3 marathon runners would be from Scotland as well!

I think he will be selected, Brendan Foster in commentary said he would select Derek for the third spot, especially since he was over a minute under the tough GB qualification standard.

Is teh Race Walking team closed or they're going to add more athletes?

Anyway, I'm happy por Derek but sad for Charlotte. I think she's the future of british marathon running, cause she's so young; not being part of the olympic team is a mistake by BA....
