uk12points 434 Posted August 12, 2016 Author #42 Share Posted August 12, 2016 Today is the day I fear we will fall behind the London 2012 medal haul - 6 medals today would take us level! Very unexpectedly strong start in Track cycling last night, a positive sign.
Quasit 849 Posted August 13, 2016 #43 Share Posted August 13, 2016 Team GB medals after Day 7 Rank Gold Silver Bronze Total 3 7 9 6 22 Two golds in rowing and one in track cycling yesterday but also a very surprising silver in women's trampoline. The trend continues, GB have made rapid progress in this sport over the last years. Two more silvers won by Jazmin Carlin and the dressage team. Quasit 849 Posted August 14, 2016 #45 Share Posted August 14, 2016 (edited) Team GB medals after Day 8 Rank Gold Silver Bronze Total 3 10 13 7 30 Mixed day for Team GB. Track cycing really outshine the other sports once again. In athletics, 3 were possible, only Farah made it and finishing swimming with one gold is good but it was just the bare minimum of what to expect. The last years seemed more hopeful and track cycling can't compensate for everything. Or rather, I don't prefer track cycling to compensate for other lost opportunities. The highlight was without a doubt the men's eight in rowing. Today is another important day and for now it looks very much like the London result in total medals might not be far off! Quasit 849 Posted August 15, 2016 #48 Share Posted August 15, 2016 Team GB medals after Day 9 Rank Gold Silver Bronze Total 2 15 16 7 38 With 5 golds and 3 silvers, that was probably the best day for Team GB for the rest of the games. Whitlock had the day of his life, gold in floor was very unexpected, Rose with a perfect finish to win the first Olympic golf tournament for ages and even though I'm not a big fan of Murray, he is now a double-Olympic champion. Kenny won the all-British sprint final against Skinner. Louis Smith didn't look too happy with his silver but it was a close fight between the top three. Nick Dempsey takes the first silver in sailing. Stopped watching sports, there are better things in life.

Quasit 849 Posted August 16, 2016 #50 Share Posted August 16, 2016 Team GB medals after Day 10 Rank Gold Silver Bronze Total 2 16 17 8 41 One entire stack on the tenth day. Dujardin finished with the highest score in individual dressage, repeating her success from 2012. Cavendish with silver in men's omnium but with a nasty taste to it. The most beautiful performance this time by Sophie Hitchon with a bronze in women's hammer throw. Not only was it unexpected but also we have a medal in a throwing event. Nice.
