Lars Hammerness Leopold (Truckee, Calif.)
Vincent Bonacci (Salt Lake City, Utah)

WOMEN:
Deedra Irwin (Pulaski, Wis.) - World Cup

Hallie Grossman (Craftsbury, Vt.)
Chloe Levins (Rutland, Vt.)

Looks like they brought Schommer and Irwin to get few more races.  They were the weak legs in the relay last week.

Start Lists are out for the OEC Individual

Men - 147 - 39 nations represented

Women - 121 - 33 nations represented

There are quite a few biathletes in both races that have WC experience.

Biathlete from California? :yikes:

Lots of snow in California - more than six months a year sometimes up in the north-East.

I know right! I think we have one club in Tahoe. It’s one of the few sports that is near impossible to get into in California.

Not this year (yet). We’re like the one place that hasn’t gotten much snow. However, we’ve been slammed with some storms this week, and so there’s a little more now.

First snow in the Sierra Nevada and Southern Cascades generally comes in October. Snow lasts well into April/May.

If I remember correctly, he is training in Norway.  Also the 1960 Olympics were in Squaw Valley, CA, home of the first Olympic Biathlon.  Lots of snow out there.

Edit - He skies with Asker Ski Club in Asker, Norway - https://www.facebook.com/AskerSkiklubb.offisiell/

There is another American who trained/trains in Europe - Vasek Cervenka (Grand Rapids, Minn.)  He is a dual Czech/US citizen, his father was a Czechslovak biathlete back in the day.

    • It's hard to believe it was still in this calendar year
    • In last year, we were were happy with Brignone's wins, and today we're excite that della Mea is in the top 10... It's hard to imagine a bigger fall... And Goggia should give up on the giant slalom and focus on the speed events – Vonn isn't wasting time on the giant slalom, but is training for downhill and SG. Goggia last one finished on the podium in the giant slalom in march 2018, and she has no any chance of winning an Olympic medal at the regular competition. It's a waste of time and energy to finish 8th or 9th and risk injury. And we have to accept that without Brignone, we have no chance of winning a medal in the giant slalom in Cortina, and that's it.
    • yeah, just like Anna Trocker earlier Today   I think this is the best way to blow them    they're not ready for the world cup stage yet, but we're so bad right now that our coaches are digging deep
    • Some surprises and fun results so far at this year's Worlds. Like a few minutes ago, when  Harrysson made the 1/8 with another very good performance. Now he plays Jonny Clayton, who this afternoon made a stellar performance in a tough battle with Zonneveld. I don't see an easy match for Clayton, even though on paper he would have wished such an opponent for a 1/8 before the tournament.   Also i'm delighted that my fav Gary Anderson seems to be in good form, though at his age, he is prone to sudden bad matches at any time.
