This the ranking of the currently unqualified nations (after 1st subdivision) - :COL:ARM:CRO:AZE:LTU:GRE:POR:ARG:AUS:HKG:CRC

It's not defined yet how many will qualify. But, according to my calculations, somewhere between 22 and 32 individuals will quafliy (it depends on a lot of factors). :d Top 22 should be completly safe.

Thanks :yes

If I'm correct, they can even finish without an individual competitor

They have the right to send one individual gymnast no matter where their gymnasts place in the all-around. But this was a rough competition. They will not qualify a full team for sure, which is sad. Not even Lytwyn could have saved them after this disastrous performance.

The top 20 countries represented by 1 or 2 gymnasts (i.e., not teams) in the all-around will qualify for sure. Other individual quotas may be given depending on a few things (Romania qualifying a full team, for example). Since we have had 12 countries competing with individuals so far, there are still 20 countries to go and no one is officially qualified yet. But I'd say COL, ARM, CRO and AZE will qualify for sure. LTU, POR and GRE have a good shot. ARG is in trouble now, but Nicolas can still make it.

top 20

Shouldn't it be top 22 at least?

60 teams members

4 nations that will fail to qualify a team

8 medalists from last year (could be reduced to 5)

3 continental quotas (2 Africa + 1 Oceania)

1 tripartite

That's 76, what leaves 22 quotas for individuals.

You're right. For some reason I thought the maximum number of gymnasts was 96, but it indeed is 98.

This means COL and ARM have officially qualified.

We scored 350.6 points without Hambüchen?! :yikes:

5 points more than at the world championships last year ...

This score wouldve been enough for 5th place in qualification last year ...

This is really an amazing result for us, especially because Bretschneider scored about 2 points less than expected. I hope that Hambüchen, Nguyen and Bretschneider will be in top shape for Rio, then we could score 353 or 354 points. Toba had an amazing competition, probably the best of his life.

Either we got heavily overscored or those guys had an amazing preparation, i hope that we will still be able to improve until Rio.

Now only our women have to qualify, i am very optimistic. On paper we might have the best team of all nations, so we shouldnt get into trouble.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Apparently South Korean gymnast didn't get a score on the floor? :mumble:Anyway, that's at least what live scores say.

EDIT: Nevermind, I thought that South Korea wasn't qualified for some reason. :p It's irrelevant what their gymnast does here.

    • For my predictions I’m assessing a number of factors into it. For example in the comeback category, I prioritize injuries/life or career threatening stuff over breaks. World Championships, World Cups (and similar stuff for sports that don’t have those) also factor into it.    BEST MALE ATHLETE for sportsmen in Olympic sports   #1:  Leon Marchand #2:  Armand Duplantis (3 WR’s in a year…) #3:  Teddy Riner   Odermatt not being nominated is unexpected.      BEST FEMALE ATHLETE for sportswomen in Olympic sports   #1:  Summer McIntosh #2:  Sifan Hassan #3:  Lisa Carrington     BEST NON-OLYMPIC ATHLETE for athletes in Non-Olympic sports and disciplines   #1:  Shohei Ohtani #2:  Patrick Mahomes #3:  Max Verstappen     BEST PARALYMPIC ATHLETE for athletes with a disability   #1: #2: #3:     BEST YOUTH ATHLETE for athletes up to 18 years old (born after January 1st, 2006) (including Olympic, Non-Olympic and Paralympic sports)   #1:  Summer McIntosh (again) #2:  Lamine Yamal #3:  Darja Varfolomeev     BEST MEN'S TEAM for national men's teams or groups (including Olympic, Non-Olympic and Paralympic sports)   #1:  basketball team #2:  waterpolo team #3:  volleyball team     BEST WOMEN'S TEAM for national women's teams or groups (including Olympic, Non-Olympic and Paralympic sports)   #1:  volleyball team #2:  handball team #3:  field hockey team   If I’m gonna be completely honest, after #1 and #2, I had a hard time choosing one because all four teams had their struggles…      BEST DOUBLES/PAIR OR MIXED TEAM for doubles and pairs or mixed teams and groups (including Olympic, Non-Olympic and Paralympic sports)   #1:  Caterina Banti/Tito Ruggeri #2:  David Åhman/Jonatan Hellvig #3:  Paul O’Donovan/Fintan McCarthy   I had to let out a laugh when I saw that  Duda/AP were nominated, because even though they won gold they were not on the same page at all through most of the season and went months on the Beach Pro Tour between May and July without a single medal      BREAKTHROUGH OF THE YEAR for the most improved athlete (aged 19 or over) or national team (including Olympic, Non-Olympic and Paralympic sports)   #1:  Adriana Ruano #2:  Jasmine Paolini #3:  Shinnosuke Oka   Again, some of the nominations are confusing to me.  Vaast is surfing at his home break in Tahiti and like a lot of sports that advantage is big,  Lafond had a best jump of 14.90m in 2023 and  Alfred was a medal contender in 2023 as well.    I would put  Joan-Benjamin Gaba up there, he came into the Olympics completely out of the medal mix and he won silver and beat Hifumi by ippon in the mixed team final     COMEBACK OF THE YEAR for athletes or national teams who made a comeback performance in 2024 (including Olympic, Non-Olympic and Paralympic sports)   #1:  Sunisa Lee #2:  Paula Badosa #3:  Kristof Milak     SPORT MOMENT OF THE YEAR for any sport moment from 2024   #1:  Djokovic finally winning an Olympic gold medal in men’s singles tennis (and none of the other choices come close for me, honestly) #2:  Letsile Tebogo’s gold in the men’s 200m, first ever gold for Botswana and he also beats evil Lyles in the process  #3:  Armand Duplantis’ gold and WR in men’s pole vault   I wasn’t a fan the opening ceremony, and I thought the general consensus was that most people on here didn’t like it either, so I’m not sure on how it got nominated but…  Also thought there would be at least one non-Olympic nomination, but I guess not.   OLYMPIC SPIRIT AWARD for athletes or teams related to the 2024 Summer Olympics or Paralympics who exemplify the spirit of sportsmanship in the Games or showed great determination in overcoming obstacles   #1:  Kinzang Lhamo crossing the marathon finish line #2:  Fariba Hashimi fulfilling her Olympic dream, having to hide her practices from her parents and the Taliban for doing a “boys’ activity” #3: Same thing for  Manizha Talash, I can’t imagine how hard that must be for them…   Honestly, this was a tough category. Besides Skotheim, who I very clearly think is last… I feel like it could go in any order.
