I always wonder seeing all the speed events specialists entering the AC, How many of them will just DNS in the Combined Slalom ?

pure speed specialist always start in the speed race of the AC just to earn some FIS points (for the lower ranked it's an obvious choice, since AC speed events are normally easier than regular DHs and SGs and have less quality starters...so, it's a lot easier for them to end up in decent position and above all, to contain the margin from the stage winner, which is a key factor to earn more FIS points)...

at the same time, they're not interested at all in slalom and AC special points, so they just get back to their hotel room earlier by DNS in the second part of the AC...

One shouldn't forget that a combined slalom isn't really like a normal slalom since the skiers have "heavy" legs after a super-g of downhill run. Gisin is a specialist for switching from speed disciplines to slalom

edit: btw brignone is a specialist for that too
