Actually we played better than Finland, but we had 9 service errors.

I just found out that Germany seems to have a pretty young team, which is surprising, considering that Germany never had really good results at junior level on the mens side. Bogachev and Zenger were born in 1997, Krick was born in 1998, Brehme and Weber were born in 1999. Did anyone watch the german matches and could maybe tell me something about those players? Could anyone of them potentially become world class?

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Well, I only watched the game against Italy and some of the match with Czech Republic, but I have to say, although in Attack Grozer was the main option, Tobias Krick really looks like a promising middle blocker, although he did not play perfectly, he really was good, considering his young age. Still, the most positive thing about German NT has been team play. Noone really stands out, but the whole team has very high skills and experienced coach.

Since there's no way we are going to win against France, I guess I'm cheering for Czech Republic tonight. Though there's probably no realistic chance either.

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
