Tarah Korir married the Kenyan marathoner Wesley Korir, she took his last name, she is formerly Tarah McKay. Pidhoresky and O'Connell were also born in Canada. Ahmed and Ajomale immigrated when they were young.

Which is leading to some very angry stuff, because the handful of women who will compete will get the same prize money as the men, even if they don't finish the race (but enter the last lap after less than 4:17 hours, which can not be any problem at all for any serious competitor)!
