Madagascar is leading the team rankings on day 1 after winning gold and silver. But according to the entry list that's their complete team. :wall:

Looks like that's not a trend so far. :p

So far we had 0 pop-up lifters that magically appeared, but we had quite a few that didn't, despite being on entry list. Congo and Sierra Leone didn't show up today. Tomorrow will be an important day, if Libya doesn't show up once again then they are certainly out.

That would be against IWF rules.

If you are not on the list you are not allowed to compete, so I don't believe this can happen

Looks like I missed -77kg yesterday. A whole bunch of lifters didn't show up there (6 out of 14 from entry list). :LBA:CAF 2x:COD 2x:SLE

Libya seems to be out of it in fact. It's sad for them, but they might get a reallocation/wild card. As DR Congo also didn't show, Ghana only needs to finish to earn a very easy men's quota.

Tomorrow is the final day of African championships...

In men's events qualified nations can't change anymore. The five qualifiers are :TUN:CMR:MAR:ALG:GHA

In women's events qualified nations are all pretty safe (unless Morocco makes a HUGE upset tomorrow and overtakes Algeria). :NGR:TUN:CMR:ALG

Alright. IWF still didn't publish anything on their website.

Surprised that America apparently wasn't given a single wild card.

    • Tomorrow, instead of the traditional mixed relay, a completely new individual race format will be on stage: the socalled 3km knockout sprint, where 3 rounds (heats, semifinals and finals) will be contested to crown the winner   I'm very curious to see what happens, even if this kind of competition imho is completely against the spirit of long distance open water swimming    in other words, bring back the good old 25km races instead of these new fuckin' stupid formats!!!
