I am not sure how the qualification system works, but for e.g. Croatia is practically impossible to get a 2nd quota per gender, right?

unless you are in top 30 nations? Is that ranking somewhere available?

Probably, although Skender already collected some points in Finland (a notable Top 30 result in the sprint).

I guess we are right around the 30th place in both genders so this event could be crucial.

Start lists are out.

As feared, we will lose many nations for the Olympics. :BER:IND:KGZ:MDA:MAR:PRK:PAK:TGA:TOG are already out for sure.

As for the others,

No chance of qualification - :ISR:MAS:TAN:TTO:VEN

Could go either way - :ECU:PER:POR

Everyone else should be safe to go under 300 pts (at least in one gender)...

Yeah, should be a noticeable decrease in nations from Pyeongchang 2018 :(

How does the qualification race works? A specific time or a top position?

Two things: to qualify for the main race, athletes have to be in the top-10 and get a total of under 180.00 FIS points, the latter being a combination of the strength of the (top of the) field and the time difference with the one(s) in front.

Which is a problem for the women, since the by far strongest athlete in the race has bad FIS points, because she barely competes in FIS races and is a World Cup level biathlete.

Athletes from Norway are not very happy about the conditions in Oberstdorf

Tomorrow morning it could be a bit less bad though. Too bad, right when our Brazilian today figured out how to really get through the watery downhills :p

Thank you :)

I'll cheer for the Mexicans, but also for @brunamoura
