Remco Evenepoel and Wout van Aert have been chosen to represent Belgium in the Olympic time trial. No Victor Campenaerts, although he is the first reserve.

Have only just realised that the Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne suffers from the Driedaagse De Panne syndrome, in that it is in reality the Kuurne-Kortrijk-Kuurne.

Five man front group refuse to help van der Poel, get caught by a group of about 20.

And Mads Pedersen benefits with the sprint win.

Good news is that this year’s Tour of Britain is confirmed in its usual early September timeslot. - we had absolutely no cycling last year with lockdown.

The domestic calendar is also scheduled to restart in June, so hopefully some regular events can be scheduled.  Lots of international pro riders have come out of that scene, not just Brits.

The Eritreans are getting better and better, yesterday was an impressive result for them as a whole (I know they're of course not a team) in a pretty hard stage with a very hard finish.

And that's even without Kudus.

Couple of things we missed from Sunday’s French Cup Cholet-Pays de la Loire

  • Elia Viviani got his first win of the year
  • Nacer Bouhani got his first relegation of the year

Bouhanni behaves like a dangerous idiot for the 627743rd time in his aggression-filled career, that was still missing from this year indeed :p

Should have said the race is on the GCN app (can be cast), but I couldn’t find it on the ES Player.

    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
