I think the USA could really struggle here but it’s almost impossible to predict who will beat them. If they didn’t have Embiid I would confidently pick against them. But he changes things to some extent. 
 

I just question where the defence and athleticism is coming from. It feels like the best team is not necessarily involving the big names but will they be given the minutes on reputation?

Well the team will be stronger at the Olympics than the World Championships. Theoretically anyway. I imagine Curry, LeBron, KD, Kawai, George, Lillard are in the squad.
