Yes, but if I understand the qualification process correctly, Canada's will keep the place won in Pan American championships and the place it currently has in the individual rankings will be assigned to the NOC of the next best lifter in the individual rankings.

thanks, in that case i dont have any hope of argentinian qualification for reallocation.

Unless something amazing happens, :CUB:ECU:PER:DOM:MEX:USA:CAN will qualify in men's division. By amazing I mean Venezuela managing to qualify with 5 lifters. It's actually possible if they win the last event, but their last lifter is not so good.

Actually, Kobaladze will not finish unfortunately, meaning Canada ties with Chile on total number of classification points (116). Meanwhile if Venezuela finish in 6th position or better they will qualify even when their first three competitors did not finish.

What a blow for Canada, but not over yet. Venezuela is 6th after snatch, 5 kilos behind 5th and in front of Mexico because of body mass (Mexican lifter is almost 60kg heavier so it's not exactly tight :p). Anyhow, Venezuelan lifter also has a solid opening weight in c&j so it looks like VEN could indeed make it with only 5 lifters!

It's finished, but in weightlifting there is always a hope for doping.

So what's the tiebreak if Canada and Chile tie?

Looks like Chile is ahead of Canada on tie break. For a tie break the highest number of individual points is used. Both CAN and CHI have 1x23 points and 1x22 points. Chile's third highest points are 21 while Canada's is 19.

This team definitely has what it takes to be a top 5 team and consistently contending for medals. First time watching Kernen play, all I can say is how is she that good at only 19? • So I was watching a replay of China-Germany in between Canada’s game against Sweden and this one against Italy and… it seems like China cheated during it which could’ve been critical in them winning the match?    During the 1st end, Xu with his last rock had an easy hit for the single against three German stones. One of the sweepers for China (I can’t tell which one, this team is quite new to me) “accidentally” kicked their own stone, which redirected one of their own stones into the rings, and Germany only got the steal of 2. HIS FUCKING FOOT IS TOUCHING THE ROCK   Now after, Team Xu was claiming that the stone was picked (it was not) and Muskatewitz was arguing that it couldn’t possibly have been picked. China wouldn’t admit it, and they ended up winning the game 10-9. BOO.    Hope these cheaters don’t qualify for the Olympics.
    • Edin usually has mediocre seasons though (that being said this has been worse than usual), then really starts to show up for Worlds. He’s only won 4 GSOC events in his career.     They’re at a 4-2 record at the moment, so seems to be the case again. Plus, they played really well in their loss to Canada.
