Jasná is ready for the great World Cup return, the final inspections were successfull and everything is thus prepared for this weekend WC retun to Slovak soil after more than 4 seasons :)

Spoiler

Sadly, this time due to the FIS Covid strict measures protocol and the even stricter measures in Slovakia the event will be held without spectators only in a strict special "bubble"

which is sad, since this year Jasná organizers were aiming for the absolute attendance record.. according to the tickets purchase was even expected to beat the Europa Cup 2019 record :(

I hope FIS won't wait 4 years to put Jasna on the calendar again? I mean Nove Mesto is usually a sell-out in biathlon so I have no idea what stops FIS from milking Vlhova's career peak? :mumble:

The cancelled men’s downhill today will not be rescheduled. That is an bid disadvantage for Odermatt. 2 DH, 2 SG, 2 GS and 2 SL still to go in the men’s calendar.

    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
