The best match in the World Cup so far was played today!

Both teams definitely deserved to be in the final four, India was so close of catching Australia….

Probably India will be eliminated, which will be quite a disappointed, it will depends on New Zealand that has to beat Pakistan tomorrow.

Talk about surprises! The six time world champions, the winners of the last THREE editions, the defending World Cup champions Australia are OUT!

The finalists of last year’s tournament South Africa played a superb match and knocked Australia in a World Cup match for the first time ever!

The other finalist will be decided tomorrow between New Zealand and West Indies :d

:NZL who came into the world cup losing 10 straight matches, were not even given a chance to reach semis, defying all odds have won their first ever world cup.

Suzie Bates and Sophie Devine were in the team that finished runners up in 2009 and 2010 and have now finally won a world cup. This was also the last T20 match for Suzie Bates, meaning she won't try to make the team for LA, which could have been her second Olympics after Beijing 2008, where she made the Kiwi Basketball team.

what a disappointment must be to South Africa, not only loosing the second final in two years, but also doing it after managing to do the impossible: eliminate Australia.

But what a World Cup, and what a New Zealand tournament!!!

  • 3 weeks later...

The third day of the Challenge Series (Group B) has just finished. :UGA Uganda confirmed their great form by winning by 209 runs against :TAN Tanzania. Honestly I think Uganda is the big favourite in the tournament, but anything can happen in three years.

In the other match, the most important one for me :p, :ITAItaly dominated against :HKG Hong Kong and won by 155 runs. Some batting was very good, on fielding we can still improve. Compared to the last matches with Hong Kong in the past years there has been a frightening improvement for the Azzurri.

Uganda were mocked by the rain, they would have easily won the match after a big batting innings and Hong Kong were in dire straits. Instead, the Africans had to settle for a draw.

    • In Rome, it would be useful to roof the swimming pool complex at Foro Italico, possibly with the option of retracting the roof and covering the tennis court complex. Overall, there's a lot to do, for example, compared to Budapest, but unfortunately, this is Italy How many years has Roma been building their new stadium, and they keep pushing back the completion date- now I read it's 2030? and it should be ready. The same goes for Milan- there should be a modern complex of indoor swimming pools with 50 meters pools, etc., but there's a problem with one stupid football stadium, which will only be built after an ultimatum from UEFA

    • impossible, there are not enough venues in both towns and I mean, Milan doesn't have an Olympic Stadium, a decent Tennis Complex and a big Swimming Complex (not to mention the sea) Rome, on the other hand, doesn't have a Rowing/Canoeing Basin nor arenas and stadiums for the team sports beyond football and rugby there's no chance that all those venues would be built from scratch, meanwhile if we use both cities we already have almost everything we need, especially the most expensive and controversial sites

She wasn’t a top-tier athlete in that program anymore. She was at the end of her career. I would personally would rather race against Katie. She’s not as competitive as the other athletes,” he said. “It’s probably really unfair to say and not really where I want to go with this but that’s where we are with that.”   Uhlaender: “If I were Canada, I would be concerned in how this coach is representing the Olympic values for his country,” Uhlaender told Fox News Digital. “He hurt a whole field of athletes, all with dreams, and this sends the message that they don’t matter unless they are number one. All athletes matter, and we all deserve to compete fairly, with integrity, and respect. He did not respect anyone in that field. “This is not about my resume or how good the athletes were in the race. This is about the fact that he intentionally manipulated the competition to hurt myself and 13 other countries because he felt it necessary to eliminate all possibility. That is against the spirit of sport and not what the Olympic movement represents.”   Isn't it great when other people's dirty laundry is aired?  /sarcasm     (I was a little surprised to see NPR pick this up, but per this article, Uhlaender preemptively recorded the phone call after receiving a text from Cecchini that said he had 'bad news' for her.)
