This story continues to get worse. There are 24 Chinese players who play on the World Tour, 10 are now suspended on suspicion of fixing matches including their two best players.

:IRI Hossein Vafaei beat :ENG Mark Selby 6-2 in the first round of Masters. I wonder if he's any popular back home given his rise up the snooker ranks in the last 18-24 months? @MHSN

it depends on what you consider "popular". he is popular among those who follow this sport but that's not a big group.

so let's say he is well known inside the sport community but if he walks on the streets (anywhere outside of his hometown) most probably nobody will recognize him.

Yeah, I see Zhao Xintong has also been suspended

Very shocking to me. Zhao Xintong in my mind is a very gentle, polite, disciplined player. I could never link him to match fixing for gambling before. I think all 10 Chinese suspended players linked to Liang Wenbo who was the first one being suspended. He said he would let the thing going big on social media after being investigated. One of the suspended player said on social media that he was forced to fix the match under the pressure of Liang Wenbo only once as a young player.

    • Tomorrow, instead of the traditional mixed relay, a completely new individual race format will be on stage: the socalled 3km knockout sprint, where 3 rounds (heats, semifinals and finals) will be contested to crown the winner   I'm very curious to see what happens, even if this kind of competition imho is completely against the spirit of long distance open water swimming    in other words, bring back the good old 25km races instead of these new fuckin' stupid formats!!!
