Heywood will complain about Pau in 3... 2... 1...

So you finish a stage in the middle of the mountains, an absolutely perfect spot to start the next stage. But no, you decide to go to the Tour de France's asshole to start the next stage with 50 flat kilometers....towards those same mountains! What on earth is it with ASO and Pau, why go to this stain on the face of the earth every...single...time?

I've already seen plenty of photoshops this morning, I enjoyed this one saying "We'd rather go to Wuhan" :p

Because the first question the TdF organisers ask about any town they visit is not “Does it provide great racing conditions?” or “Does it have legions of enthusiastic fans?” but “Does it have 6000 unbooked hotel rooms in July?”   :noshake:

So I’m guessing that Pau is the only town in the mid-Pyrenees that can guarantee that every year.

Codefroy performs his usually heroic, tactically brilliant attack: gains one KoM point.

Break is trying to get away: lots of competition to get in it.  Sagan making sure he gets in if it goes - sprint points available after the first big climb.

Fabio Aru off the back, driver of the Broom Wagon thoughtfully keeping him company.

They only just started the first climb - which absolutely should be HC instead of 1 - and the main group is being shattered.

And the Broom Wagon gets his meal, nom nom nom.  Aru abandons. :bye:

For the same reason that all three sliding sports are basically a package that will live and die together.
