First names for team :USA announced

def Zac Jones and forwards Kevin Rooney & Colin Blackwell (all NY Rangers), Conor Garland (Arizona) and the son of slovak parents Kevin Labanc (San Jose) whom moved to the states in 1994, there was some speculations for Labanc to represent Slovakia a couple of years ago, but he chosed USA.

Two other veterans also confirmed their participation at the tournament for USA, maybe the most famous names of the team so far Justin Abdelkader (who played this season in :SUI with EV Zug) and Brian Boyle (who did not play anywhere this season)

Alexander True (San Jose Sharks) is so far the only Danish NHL player in the squad.

yeah, not going to be a NHL super stars feast this year for sure. May be one of the lowest level championship in a looong while. with the coronavirus pandemic strict measures, including quarantining players after their arrivals to Riga, no relegation fear, many teams will play in experimental rosters. As mentioned Slovakia will send the youngest team in our histroy, we may very well beat the absolute record with having 3 U18 players in the roster. Also from NHL we will have only 1 player this year and a kid who just debuted in the profileague in last weeks Studenič with New Jersey.

I do believe almost all other teams are in the same.

:SVK TV RTVS introduced today their format and schedule.

All 64 matches in TV. 34 matches Live and remaining 30 delayed after the first match broadcast finished. (All games obviously live also in their web platform)

SVK matches + Final in RTVS 1, All other games in RTVS 2.

Sadly due strict measures there will not be a RTVS Studio in Riga, but everything will be conducted from Bratislava, for example also the flash interviews between periodes will be conducted online.

Also many documentaries, stats, behind the stage and TV phone games as usually are scheduled during the studios.

and a brief return to :KAZ

After GB, Kazakhstan is the 2nd team to present its final roster for the upcoming WCh. They already named the complete 28 players roster which will fly to Riga.

And there one huge surprise in the Yuri Mikhailis team. :KAZ will have to play without their biggest star Nigel Dawes, the naturalized Canadian of Barys Nur-Sultan former Astana had to refuse the invitation due personal family reason.

The team has 5 naturalized players, 3 :CAN and 2 :SWE , especially their goalie Henrik Karlsson is a monster, a very tall goal tender and very very good. As usual the skeleton of the team is composed by players of the only KAZ KHL team Barys Nur-Sultan, 5 players only play abroad in Russian KHL teams and one in the Russian lower VHL, the rest of the team are from the other local main clubs.

All in all pending on the form of Karlsson, Kazakhstan should have some troubles to avoid last place in its group, the match against Italy should be interesting, without fear of relegation this year this may be a nice open match with free-minded players, this can be a fun game with a lot of goals, in the remaining games there may be a lot of goals too, but I am affraid mostly in their own net.

Breaking News !

Henrik Karlsson, The swedish native goaltender of Kazakhstan unexpectedly left the team just before the World Championships

According to the shaiba.kz portal, goalie Henrik Karlsson decided to leave the training camp of the hockey national team of Kazakhstan. Instead of him, the coaching staff decided to call Demid Yeremeyev of HK Temirtau to the Riga World Championships.

According to a source, Karlsson left the national team because he did not like the terms of the new contract offered to him by his club, Barys Nur-Sultan. However, some Kazakh media cited family reasons.
