[SPOILER ALERT]

Congrats to RK Vardar https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RK_Vardar for winning the EHF Champions League! :o

Vardar is a Macedonian handball team and the sport is quite big in Macedonia, but they have never won the biggest European tournament in men's competition.

Matches with English commentary (the guy is crazy, it's amazing) can be seen live at ehf.tv

In the semi-final they beat 9-time European champions Barcelona 26-25 with a top corner goal with 4 seconds to go :yikes:

And in the final, PSG equalised with 7 seconds to go but PSG had put all their players up the field (including goalkeeper), so Vardar could throw the ball up the court into the goal and they would guarantee the win. You don't see this in the video below but the team coach accidentally called a time-out, meaning they would have to score within 7 seconds from the half-way line! And then this happened:

Obviously when they returned to Macedonia, it was a bit crazy:

    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
