Just realised there is Teqball here  :mad:

 

Explains why there is no Sepaktakraw 

 

I think the Teqball federation may have pledged to contribute to the hosting costs for the sport making it an easy choice for organizers and anyhow retired / 3rd string Sepaktakraw players only play it so believe that was the reason.

 

 

Anyway hate that artificial sport

One of the worst martial arts really. Surely the middle east lobby.

 

The -52kg W final :KOR deserved to win gold and did all attacks still lost to :UAE who was trailing even on advantages and did nothing. 

 

 

Total mockery of the sport. C'mon I'll happily watch Wushu here instead. Really wished to watch woodball :cry:

Some participation stats from the LOC/OCA: "A total of 1,635 athletes from all 45 National Olympic Committees of the OCA are taking part in the 6th ABG. This figure comprises 959 male athletes and 676 female athletes. In addition, there are 924 team officials from the 45 NOCs. This gives a total of 2,559 athletes and team officials."

      I mean, the program of these games is always very lopsided for Venezuela. Colombia without the skating this time took a big blow but normally it also favors them.  We compete in every sport while they don't bother with anything on water for example.   We didn't even have those sports when we hosted because these northern countries don't send anyone to reach the minimum number of athletes required for competition.

      The weather yesterday was brilliant at the start.   Wonderful to kickstart something that's appearing internationally for the first time in over a decade.    I do think the programme can be expanded to include more events with a 200m track as well as combined events.

      great week for the  crews!    3 wins, 5 medals, a few good placings and Tita / Banti coming back just as good as they were in the Nacra 17, ending up in 4th place only because of a technical fail on their boat (which led them to abandon a race and to a DNS in the following one, when they were comfortably leading the overall standings )   sailing is slowly becoming one of our strongest Olympic sports
