Biathlon 2016 - 2017 Discussion Thread

Just when you think the things can not be worst and you just can not fall deeper, it will hapen... Our womens team got a flu and a very strong one Kuzmina already travelled back home, Gereková will stay in Antholz untill Sunday to see if she will be able to start in the relay, Ivona Fialková didn´t joined the team yet (she was supposed to train this week and come only for the relay) so we had only 2 biathletes competing today and ofc with bad results, our disastrous positions and the dramatic situation in the olympic qualification gained actually another level...and with current situation with illness in our team is highly probable we will not even send a relay Sunday... it´s starting to be a real disaster for us in the Nations Cup. we are still 17th but only 5 points ahead of Japan and also next places aren´t so far.... total horror, there not any other word to describe all this season so far for our girls..

 

and Paulína still didn´t meet the starting criterias for 3rd trimester her last chance will be at WCh... same for her sister Ivona at european championships next week...

 

now my question is ...how deep we can still fall ?

I think you can at least relax about Nations Cup, surely Slovenia won't make up 500 points

we´ll see..this whole situation is really frustrating and I´m really starting to have doubts about how it will all turns out.

Neverending misery...

our mens lost 2 places and are after todays another epic collapse now 17th in the Nations Cup !!! they achieved the impossible and tied the disastrous ranking of our girls...disaster.

Wow what an incredibly beautiful victory for Nadine Horchler

From number 30 to victory in the mass start. Who knew. She wasn't even on the provisional start list! 

I thought after the fourth shoot Dahlmeier would get it. But Horchler must have been saving her energy. Great race by her!

At least Koukalova got a podium, she hadn't gotten a podium in Antholz until today, struggles with the altitude, so glad she made it

It's sad seeing the best shooter for a few seasons Wierer now shooting like a semi-amateur. This girl had so much talent and potential that just isn't coming up. She should be fighting with Soukalova, Dahlmaier, Dorin, not scrapping for points...
