Of course, we'll qualify some great athletes here.

 

Simone Biles?  I doubt she'll return.  I think her Olympic story has finished (no disrespect to her...I think she's accomplished everything she wanted to accomplish).

 

Looking forward to seeing how our team develops.  Our host country quota only gets us 1 athlete per gender, so we have to place Top 3 in the Team ranking at the 2026 WCh or in the Top 9 (or up to Top 12, depending on who else has qualified) in the 2027 WCh.

 

There's some gymnastics happening later this week...we'll see what goes down!

Realized that our Men went to Germany for a Team competition (DTB Pokal Team Challenge).  We had a couple of our guys (Danila and Yul) that were just at the America Cup in Vegas.  We came out on top, ahead of :JPN and :ITA. :)

A couple of our men were in Croatia for a World Cup.  

 

Donnell Whittenburg nabbed Silver in Parallel Bars

Kameron Nelson was 4th in Vault

Donnell 5th in Rings

Kameron 4th in Floor

      Spring Nationals, Day #1   men's 50m Back: Michele Lamberti, 24.38 (new NR) women's 800m Free: Simona Quadarella, 8.21.01 men's 400m Free: Davide Marchello, 3.47.76 women's 100m Breast: Lisa Angiolini, 1.06.33; Benedetta Pilato, 1.06.39 men's 50m Fly: Lorenzo Gargani, 23.31 women's 400m IM: Giada Alzetta, 4.41.00 men's 50m Free: Leonardo Deplano, 21.64 women's 4*100m Free Relay: best splits: Sara Curtis, 53.53 (1st leg), Emma Virginia Menicucci, 54.02 (internal leg)   the individual champions are qualified to the European Championships per rule, but not a single second ranked swimmer did better than the qualifying time set by the federation, they all have to try again at the Settecolli meet in June (or get the pass in other races here in Riccione this week)   so, day 1 is over and the championship is already very disappointing, especially because none of the youngsters expected to make a step ahead in the hyerarchy of our swimming did show any sign of improvement

      Serbia- Italy 0-6   I don't know how tjis Serbia can to draw 0-0 with Sweden at home... I have the impression that Sweden plays its best matches against Italy and is weak in the rest? However, 1 place in this group will be difficult to do and we won't avoid a playoff spot for spot on the World Cup. If we're to dream of first place, we absolutely must win in Denmark on Saturday.

      wins 3-2 and also missed a penalty. Poland's chances have been reduced so much they basically have to win in Dublin in four days time.
