Was only 5.01 points behind Malinin

Canada 4th after the short programs. One point behind Italy for 3rd.

Just found out that Canada is going with Lajoie/Lagha for the free dance

He did quite well, but there were a couple of guys I expected in the final who weren't there to begin with. But it's okay, upwards and onwards.

Quite unlikely that we challenge for bronze though, having used our stronger duos for the short programs and having worse second ones then Georgia/Italy

It'll be tough, especially competing with the home team in a judged event.

Ice dance is a very taxing discipline, and Gilles/Porier have qualification on the 9th and the final on the 11th, although it’s disappointing it’s the right decision when we’re not favored in the team event and ice dance is our biggest medal chance in figure skating.

I feel like today went about as expected - some highs and some lows. I wasn’t necessarily expecting a medal, so the bronze was a wonderful surprise. The figure skating team advancing, top 10 in downhill and 2 moving onto the FS slope style final were all highlights. I’m mostly disappointed by the curling and ski jumping; Abigail must be mad to not be in the top 8 and I’m not sure how/if Canada can move on in the curling.
