I can not even imagine what would happen here if we´ll medal in hockey. Maybe even the bread will be for free the whole week

I am not greedy :d, In fact it is the opposite I do expect nothing. A medal would be awesome, but quite unlikely, which would be sad as we will end a WOG medal streak ongoing since Torino 2006. So dreaming ? yes, Praying ? yes, Expecting ? No.

In my books 3rd best, behind :CAN and :USA

We already crushed SWE medal hopes twice at the Olympics, once in a NHL tournament, but this was during our finishing golden era in Vancouver, the strength were pretty equal at that time, definitely not the case this time.

Just messing with you :p

Maybe Vlhova can medal? With her injury probably not, but we all know how good she is. I'll definitely be rooting for her :cheer:

The main problem is her starting bib. She will have bib 19 or 20, which is a huge disadvantage in nowadays W Slalom.

Sure she already won a slalom with Bib 19 in Levi but she was much younger and healthier. This time basically no chance.

Wait what? :yikes:

Thats right, we missed qualification by one place in ranking, by whole season the relay wasnt in final A even once. The short track qualifications were overall the most dissapointing among all sports before these Olympics :(

This is my first Olympics on the forums...is there any sort of guessing game where we try to predict the podiums at each event?  (Slash, would there be any interest if not?)

:ALB & :BRA  in Alpine Skiing have big chances, distantly followed by  :CRO but do not sleep on them, I personally see Zrinka Ljutic as one of my dark horses in the always specific Olympic slalom, in a given day anything can happen

:LAT has its sliding sports, :BEL skeleton as mentioned, :BUL the alpine snowboard masta, :UKR Aerials, :ESP Ski Mo and :GEO with a slim Figure Skating chances

:POL not sure what exactly they are doing with us minnows in this poll though :p will certainly medal casually here and there

The rest will having fun and plenty of photos ... ah, yes and Slovakia with Slaf scoring the Medal game Overtime winner obviously. do not laugh and keep me dreaming a couple of days yet please

Poland will win at least 3/4 medals. In 2025, they had 6 medals in Olympic events at the World Championships, and 4 in 2023. In theory, they should have 5, but they've had very poor form in short track this year, so I think 3 or 4 will be OK for them. If it were 1998, I would agree to include them in such a survey, but certainly not now...

Yeah, not worried for the Poles. They´ll do fine :d

Doesn't Sweden have the second best roster? Or are you going from a historical perspective

Sweden is getting decimated by injuries. They are already down Carlsson and Brodin and possibly Nylander and others.
