Is France hoping for 10 gold medals at home by 2030, only in biathlon competitions? In women's their dominance is almost certain for many years to come, unless Germany invests heavily in this sport- they have the capabilities and traditions, but will they have the determination for that?

  • 2 weeks later...

Looking at the Italians' skiing time, it looks like we brought the same set of skis we used in Antholz. You know, the ones for which they used jam and glue instead of wax.

:SVK Batovska-Fialkova should hang onto the podium after she gained time on Vobornikova on the last lap.

A week late :(

:FRA Jeanmonnot barely clings on to take the individual globe by 2 pts from Magnusson. Fichtner's surprise 5th place with bib #57 basically decided that. If Magnusson finished 5th she'd take the globe.

We will need a lot od changes in our staff after this season and I hope our federation will have the money for that`s. Unfortunately, your staff and ski services blew almost the entire Olympics and now we're still in the same situations. Due to their terrible form, we won 1/2 fewer medals than we actually did. Our team has skis on par with Moldova or Kazakhstan – shame!

    • I clearly understand this reasoning.   I even can say when this "wrong turn" had happen exactly - during another Olympic truce - in 2008 when russia annexed part of Georgia. The world did not react properly and it was a clear signal - the international institutions are to week to defend the values they proclaimed. So the current system of international relations is being actively ruined by the leaders who are plaing themselves over the institutions and laws.   The IOC and IPC are the international institutions too and they faced with the same challenge. It looks like their choice is "money" but not "values".  That`s why those speeches about the Olympic values by Coventry make me sick.   I really do not know how the IOC and IPC can reinstate their reputation now. Ok, they can just wait and join the winner. But they have no any guarantee that the outcome of the war which is getting global will not bring absolutely new world sport structure. Too many "black swans" may happen to predict. Furthermore, Coventry looks to be absolutely incompetent for this position.

    • Plenty of people here as well who would, in the same line, want to see USA, Iran, Israel (Sudan?) banned, for example.
    • A "government" boycott is not the same as an ATHLETES' boycott.  All it means is that the Ambassador will not be shown on TV waving at the Team when they walk in.  Many Governments including  &  boycotted the Sochi ceremony, for example.  How did Putin respond? By invading  the day the Olympics ended.
