Honestly, I think you guys have a much better chance of success here than we do. It's already difficult to maintain this sport, and with this ridiculous format this year, things have gotten even worse

Sevens season started today with the first stop in Dubai :UAE. This is the first of six stops for the SVNS Series championship, before entering into the 2026 World Championship (with 3 stops) in April. Today, the 8 teams in both genders finished the group play. Tomorrow matches:

 

Men's Semifinals:

 

:FRA (1st Pool A) - :AUS (2nd Pool B)

:NZL (1st Pool B) - :FIJ (2nd Pool A)

 

Men's 5 to 8th:

 

:ARG (3rd Pool A) - :ESP (4th Pool B)

well, it depends on how you look at it. There are more stages on the circuit, and then for the world championship there are 3 stages more with 12 teams. Also gives teams the opportunity to play against the best teams coming from the bottom within a period of 4 months.

 

I dont know, i like it. More competition.

      the basic is the same but with different tricks, different strategy etc. it's a mixture of frestyle and Greco because you can't dive for a single leg attack.    I'm surprised to see ~20 wrestlers in each weight. hopefully that doesn't tempt UWW or IOC to try this in major events. as a wrestling fan I find this very unwatchable !

      Lasting 2 Weeks and including 24 sports    I bet Beach Sepaktakraw(including their favourite Chinlone, Hoop), Water Skiing, Arnis, Floorball, Wushu, Weightlifting, Taekwondo, Underwater Hockey, Boxing and a few martial arts (Kickboxing/Muay Thai etc)   Obstacle Racing also should make the cut.
