Tomorrow's the final day of the competition

 

Medal series start at 11.15 a.m. CET and will be streamed live at https://www.youtube.com/@kiteclasses

 

after the Fleet Races, in the men's division  Riccardo Pianosi is the leader in the standings and goes straight to the Final (needing only 1 win for the title) together with  Max Maeder (needing 2 wins for gold, like the sailors coming for the semifinal round)

 Gian Stragiotti and  Toni Vodisek are already qualified to the semifinal round, meanwhile  Benoit Gomez,  Vojtech Koska,  Jan Marciniak and  Jan Matthis Voester will start the day from the quarterfinals

 

in the women's division,  Jessie Kampman and  Lauriane Nolot are already in the Final,  Elena Lengwiler and  Lily Young are qualified to the semifinal round and  Breiana Whitehead,  Ellie Aldridge,  Daniela Moroz and  Derin Atakan will start their campaign from the quarterfinals

Pianosi is already a guaranteed medal and needs only one win to get gold, right?

I think it's a four-person final, and I think it's possible to still finish fourth...but everyone else will have to win twice, and he only has to win once.  The odds are in his favor.

From what I read, the winner of the qualifications gets 1 point at the beginning of the start, so even if it's 4, that 1 point probably counts more?

I know for sure that the Pianosi has at least two chances to win gold: he must to win one of two first races (if wins the first, there will be no second). I hope for that!

no, the final features 4 sailors, he might still end up with some wood

however, yes, he only need 1 win win, while the other 3 sailors need 2 wins

then, it's about more wins and, if still tied, the actual placing in the last race to determine silver and bronze

Kampman will start the finals with 1 win and only needs another 1 to take the title, the other girls need 2 wins to bring gold home
