Definitely much less (if at all) disappointed at the performance is concerned as before the Olympics everyone knew that HU short track is out as a medal contender (at least for now)

Italy definitely deserved the 3rd place with at least 10 sports they medalled in.

If the curling mixed doubles (where you were title holders) went into the final and then lost, would have the missing silver for 3rd place.

Obviously, other sports could've made up for that.

 

Sighel's poor form, Ghiotto's slip-up in the 10km, the miss of medals in the men`s PGS alpine snowboarding, Gicomel's tragedy yesterday, etc. It could have easily 4-5 more silver medals. Personally, I thought 10 gold medals would be enough for 3rd place, but unfortunately, there weren't enough silver medals and too many bronze medals: 14.

The coverage of this will be a lot lower in 2030 because commentators can’t do this and short track and will likely focus on the one actually in France. Particularly if it’s the Netherlands and not Turin.

If Lollobrigida was just a few hundreds of a seconds slower in the 5000 metres, it would have been 11 golds for us, 9 for Italy. Who knows what would have happened if the Dutch mixed relay team had stayed on its feet. Etc etc
 

But of course, that’s not how it works. You win some medals you did not expect to win, you lose some you thought near-certainities. In some events you are unlucky, in others you profit from the misfortune from your competitors. You have some narrow wins (for instance Riijpma-De Jong) and some narrow losses (for instance Conijn and the Men’s team pursuit).

France was probably 5th in Paris and the Netherlands behind it, but it`s also great results for you.

No absolutely not, time to face the reality, it isn't only here even in Beijing we sucked, we're not gonna be winning that many in the next 2-3 Olympics unless something changes . Short track is too unpredictable to rely on for medals, and our athletes don't have the mental capability to perform during an event like this, unfortunate but I've accepted it already. And the Canadian olympic committee won't do shit about it because unless we won 5 less medals, the curling and men's hockey medals means they don't care about it . whatever

 

Finishing top 10 in 2030 would be a success for us with the crisis Canadian winter sport is facing
