Obviously very unsurprising that Félix Pigeon qualified. I hope he can sneak in a medal in Milan, always nice to see the "rejects" from the Canadian team do well.

He was too weak for you in Canada?

I think he’d probably be able to make the team now, but it was probably not obvious he’d be able to when he decided to represent Poland. It’s a pretty hard team to crack even for people who are really good. :AUS Brendan Corey (who is from my hometown!) is someone else who could maybe make a Canadian team, but obviously much easier to qualify with Australia.

Courtney Sarault actually could have represented :USA (like fellow :NBR skater and Olympic medalist Travis Jayner) but luckily she picked Canada 😅

Not right now, don’t think of them he would make the team IMO, he's still a step behind the main five.

Cynthia Mascitto, also from Canada, competed in Italy until 2022. Do you know her? She was mainly used for relay races.

    • Oh well.  Plenty people say that once you get past the first flush of youthful energy it is actually better long term to have a couple of post Olympic slow years and then start building back gradually after 18 months.  That is how Chris Hoy ran his career.
