After 2018, they invested heavily in this sport, which until 2010-2014 was completely dominated by Asia and Canada, with a few exceptions, so they're now more secure. Some 10-15 years ago, they would have had a weak Olympics if only speed skating were considered. Their phenomenon is that they consistently produce outstanding champions in various summer and winter sports, something Italy can't do. Sighel could dominate here, as it's clear that Canada and the USA are weaker.

Jens looking crazy strong, the best in a final of 9. Although there were two Canadians and two Chinese, so in the current state of affairs there were only four others eyeing the gold anyway.

Latvian guy works with our coach. First medal outside luge/skeleton  for them ! To be honest I am happy for them and jealous - our best place is 9 (twice)
