The 2026 World Championships list has been prepared. 205 events across 30 different sports.

If you have any reports of mistake/update please feel free to report it here. Thanks!

Thanks, @Sindo!

For Table Tennis, there's also a 'World Cup' (as the event for Mixed Teams is called) for Men's and Women's Singles at the end of March/beginning of April: https://www.ittf.com/tournament/3379/MWC_WWC_Macao2026/  Perhaps this also has the same status as the Mixed Team event and should be considered?

No, I just consider the World Championships for Table Tennis, so the next edition will be in 2027.

Hi @Sindo, can you add Women's 2026 T20 Cricket World scheduled in England & Wales during 12 Jun - 5 Jul. Link - link

Thanks! I have added it. Do you know if the next T20 World Cup, both men and women, will take place before or after LA28? I think the men's edition is usually early in the year so ther might be a 2028 edition before the Olympics, but I am not sure. Thanks!

Hi @Sindo, the program for Men's Cricket with hosts for respective tournaments has been announced till 2031.

The link is here

Australia & New Zealand will host 2028 T20 World Cup in October which is after Olympics

For Women's Cricket, the program has been announced till 2029 with host named for ICC tournaments till 2028 T20 World Cup. Link is here.

The host for 2028 World Cup is Pakistan but the schedule hasn't been announced yet, but generally its expected to be around Feb-Mar. Link

Thank you for the reply.  I think this page would be interesting for someone (like myself) who is interested in exploring different sports and seeing who are current world champions for that sport/discipline.  Or, for instance, suppose I click on the USA to see we won the bronze medal in a certain event, but I want to know who won the other medals.  I would either need to click through the other NOCs, or find the event or discussion thread in the appropriate forum.

One other functionality improvement would be adding links in a couple of places.  One would be in the scenario above, where in exploring by NOC, you could click 'Men's Singles' or whatever event, and it takes you either to the Event page, or to the Discussion thread for that event, or to this new hypothetical medallist-by-event page (which could then link to the Event/Discussion).

The other place for a link would be on the World Championship calendar page itself, where a user could see an upcoming/previous WCH and easily click to find more information (going to the Event page or straight to the Discussion thread, if available).

To the extent that I could help with this, I would be glad to.  I have found all of the information on this website insightful and informational, and would be glad to contribute to the community.

This suggestion has now been implented, please have a look at the nations' pages :yes For example: USA

And I see the discipline-specific pages as well.  :) Great work! Thanks!

The World Championships have now disappeared from the World Skate Calendar, just 10 days before the competition.  No news at all but here they say cancelled. The only WST Park event was the one in Rome (Ostia), while for Street there is also another one in November in Japan, I have no idea which one it makes more sense to count.

And the 2025 Skateboarding World Championships will take place...Next week  I have added them to the 2025 World Championships list.

What about about the Cricket T20 world cup? Will it not add another gold medal for India, silver for New Zealand and 1 bronze each for South Africa and Great Britain?

    • The tournament is over for Mathilde Fantin – unfortunately, a big loss for the Italy. Tomorrow we play a semifinal against France – if we win, we'll have a grand final against Hungary on Friday. Everything will be clear then, bacouse the final match against China should be a formality. In any case, we've already achieved our best result ever in our history, or at worst scenario – 3rd place in Division 1A.

    • Super runner, good guy, sadly never entirely recovered from ripping his leg to shreds in the act of going sub 10, but as you say a key relay man for the better part of a decade, and a European and World Champion, and a reminder that talent doesn't always come in obvious looking boxes -a breakthrough sprint athlete for many of middle eastern and north african heritage.

    • Anže Kopitar (Ice Hockey) (will retire after the NHL playoffs this year)  Jonathan Quick (Ice Hockey)   Two of the biggest pieces of the LA Kings core that won two Stanley Cups during the early 2010's   Along with the two Stanley Cups, Kopitar also won the best defensive forward award two times and a leadership award in 2022.   Quick was the Stanley Cup playoff MVP in 2012 and also won an Olympic silver medal in 2010.
    • Duno. To me the most interesting question is the short term is whether Poilievre survives this or not. It will be tough for him to justify his leadership.
