My favorite in this semi final so far! And one of the favorites in general , love it :GRE

I am glad that you all liked the song. She is a good artist, I saw her live last year as an opening act for a more famous Greek singer but did not know of course that she would be representing us in Eurovision :p

She has a strong voice and the song is very beautiful because it is inspired by the Pontian Greek Genocide (Pontians are a subgroup of Greeks with a different dialect that lived in the Black Sea area for thousands of years, probably about 10% or 20% of Greeks today have at least partial Pontian ancestry) which took place after World War I and unfortunately is not talked about enough in the world. It is also connected with the Armenian Genocide (committed by the same people) which of course Hitler used as inspiration for the Holocaust which is much more well known.

Of course they won't admit that the song is about this to avoid disqualification but there are many references in the music video (maps, traditional costumes, landmarks) that make it extremely obvious. Klavdia's great grandparents were refugees from this genocide and unlike most other refugees who moved to Greece, they ended up in exile in the former Soviet Union and her grandparents and parents were born in Kazakhstan and could only move to Greece in the early 1990s (as most other Greeks who were stuck in the Soviet Union did as well - for example we had a few weightlifters win medals in Atlanta and Sydney that were from these communities) where Klavdia was born. So even though Klavdia's ancestry was always Greek, her and her sister are the first ones in their family to ever be born in Greece.

I know it is unlikely but it would be incredible if she could win Eurovision and bring the trophy back to Greece, especially since 19 May is the annual Pontian Greek Genocide remembrance day and she would possibly arrive back in Greece on that day.

First time since 2013 not to have a single former Yugoslav country in the final.

It's sad because so many Balkan countries don't compete anymore, not just :BIH :MKD from ex-Yugoslavia but also :BUL :ROU :TUR :MDA

Greece out of the final has to be the biggest crime in this edition

The EBU gave us a national heart attack, this has happened several times in the past also where we were the last country announced :roflmao:

Out of the more traditional songs, I like this one best alongside Serbia.

For the final, hope Sweden doesn't win for once. The song is fine, but for their standards a bit mid. And I have seen enough Sweden for the last few years to see a mid entry from them winning.

Moldova seems to come back next year. Which is a good thing, they often have fun, memorable and unique songs

Moldova would compete this year, but pulled out due to a lack of qualify (officially). But yeah, it would be good for Eastern European countries' chances if more of them are back again.

Are the 'socials' in your countries also full with people saying the running order is to prevent country X from winning, help country Y and so on? :p

Running order is perfect for Austria's victory and destroying for Sweden and France as they perform right after each other, Albania performing last seems be good news for them, also Netherlands and Finland chances growes.

Interesting how people see things differently. Since the running order came out, I have been seeing everywhere people saying that they want Sweden or France to win and gave them perfect positions. The lead person in deciding the positions is a Swede and how amazing would it be for EBU to celebrate the 70th edition in Paris..
