Skeleton Discussion | Qualification to Winter Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026

Evidently the IOC told her to pound sand. She's apparently insisting she'll take it to CAS, which is where she should have been looking in the first place, but still doesn't seem she wants to take on USABS, so it's beyond me what legal argument she's trying to make.

I actually think now it's entirely a PR stunt to get her attention in the US, she's totally wrapping herself in the flag and trying to make it a US/Canada thing (wonder who that would appeal to ). If she actually wanted to make a legal argument she'd be focusing on USABS (though I doubt she'd get far)

Whinelaender involving JD Vance now? They will insist this is a political case of mistreatment of Americans, who are the bestest of the best and so feared by everyone. I guess for LA28 the IOC will need to give them 16 host quota places per event to avoid such cases

Looks like she had a successful appeal...but no consequences as of now.

I think the title of the article should lead you to doubt the facts presented. That is pure click bait. More and more articles trying to pick up a CAN vs USA narrative when her story is about the internal american selection process.

I also didn't like the title of this article (but the article itself was the best choice of the ones I found...the others being on sites with a million ads).

Okay fair enough. And I am not absolving Cecchini of any blame. It goes to show you that being bad at math can cause all kinds of problems in life. It would be nice if someone told the whole story, like that Cecchini was afraid of how the Swiss might do, the Swiss. And Uhlaender was competing to take a quota from a different american. Not newsworthy I guess.

I find it hard to fathom any coach at that level doesn’t know the point situation inside out and backwards

i suspect it was something personal between him and Uhlaender. Sounds strange, but they’re a strange bunch

You are forgetting that at Vancouver your very own :CAN biathlon coaches did not understand the points system and ended up with the bare minimum of one male and one female athlete at their home games.

I think there must have been something between them, too.  Why would she have recorded a phone conversation?  Any why would he have said that?  Weird...

This is still going on?  :pope:

Uhlander could've competed at the WCs and got the points she needed to overtake Ro but instead went for the easier route and failed, and now she's complaining and calling it dirty because the outcome didn't go her way. She's even comparing "Canada's withdrawal of athletes to" doping:facepalm:
