These near-misses for Gold are frustrating, but that's 40 medals (41 if you count the guaranteed Boxing medal) with virtually all of Athletics still to come, plus Track Cycling, Modern Pentathlon, Taekwondo, and further opportunities in Sailing, Golf, Diving, Sport Climbing, Skateboarding, Showjumping, and Artistic Swimming. Doesn't look like we'll reach 20 Golds, but still every chance we beat the total medal count from Tokyo.

So :GBR should line up against :CAN in round 1 with :NZL against :POL . :GER have potentially tricky ride against :MEX and :NED will fancy their chances against :CHN
